Womb with a View offers a professional and caring, non-diagnostic mobile 3D/4D “Baby Bonding Ultrasound” experience. Being a mobile service, you can enjoy seeing your baby in the womb from the comfort of your own home and you’re able to invite family members and friends to take part in the session if you wish.
You may also choose to have your session at our convenient Freshwater studio also.
Depending on the package you choose, the 4D ultrasound session will last between 15 and 45 minutes. Overall, please allow about one hour as we may need you to get you to move around a little throughout the session.
We offer elective 2D, 3D & 4D prenatal ultrasounds to provide a positive bonding experience for the mother, father and family members with the unborn baby. There are many studies that show evidence that realistic surface images provide a connection between the parents and baby that can be beneficial to the whole family.
We give no advice or diagnostic assumptions in this examination. A routine ultrasound examination must have already been performed to assess the gestational age of the fetus and to evaluate for fetal anomalies as well as the basic components of fetal anatomy recommended for screening.
Extensive studies over 30 years have found that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Routine scanning of all pregnancies is now normal throughout Australia and the world. In 3D/4D scanning exactly the same type and intensity of ultrasound is used as with conventional 2D scanning. 3D and 4D Ultrasound both utilize sound waves to look inside the body. The technology is similar to sonar technology. A probe placed on the body emits sound waves into the body, listens for the return echo and generates an image. 3D/4D ultrasound is similar to a conventional 2D scan in terms of exposure. Womb With A View is an ethical company that carries out routine maintenance of their Australian regulated ultrasound machine and follows high standards of ultrasound practice in Australia.
If you plan on having only one baby bonding ultrasound, we would recommend having it performed between the 24th and 32th week of the pregnancy. However, excellent images of your baby can be obtained anytime after about 22 weeks of pregnancy up until about 34th week. Many mothers obtain more than one baby bonding ultrasound and have images to enjoy from their second and third trimesters.
We have packages to fit just about anyone’s budget. We continuously strive to provide the highest quality products and packages at the most affordable costs.
No, as it is an elective/ non-medical ultrasound it is not rebatable by Medicare.
Unfortunately, there are no guarantees. There are things that are beyond our control such as the baby’s position, the amount of amniotic fluid, and the mothers body type can sometimes affect the quality of the ultrasound session. If it does happen, we will offer you another complimentary session to take place at the Freshwater studio. We want everyone to be totally happy!
Absolutely, this can be a family event. The more the merrier and it’s up to you who attends. As we’re a mobile service, it will depend on how many people will fit in your lounge room.
Yes, in most cases we can provide an indication of the sex of the baby from 15 weeks. Sometimes however the baby won’t cooperate during your session to show us the gender. Certain factors such as body tissue content, developmental stage and fetal position all affect the ability to determine sex.
